They all PASSED the behind-the-wheel! Wow!
Dirk II, Lisa and Mom all went to San Angelo on Saturday the 6th and Sunday the 7th for two days of motorcycle training. For Dirk this means he will be able to drive his scooter with a regular drivers license while only 15. The restrictions allow only a 250cc motorcycle or less until he is 16.
Lisa asked to go so that she could ride a motorcycle if she ever wanted to. However, Dad was supposed to take them down and work with them on this. When dad got sick things got complicated. So Mom stepped in and offered to take them. Dirk II and Lisa asked her if she would take the class with them. (Dad already has his motorcycle license.) Originally Mom said NO WAY!
Last week Mom changed her mind and said she would go. Since Mom had never driven a motorcycle and had not driven a bicycle in many, many years, she had a difficult first day. She was not sure if she would pass. In Texas you can be exempt from the State Trooper behind-the-wheel test if the training school administers one at their classes. She did not plan on driving motorcycles a lot so that was not real critical. However, the determined redhead did pass the behind-the-wheel part and scored a 100 on the written section.
GREAT JOB everyone!
Now all they have to do is take another written test at the drivers' license office. Way to go guys!
