Blevins Family News
Happy New Year!!
Hope everyone is doing well and enjoying their 2007! We have had some injuries befall the family and wanted to share with you. First, Adam took a tumble on the ski slope, and his binding failed to release. This resulted in a right knee injury. It happened on the 16th of Dec. and he has been in a leg brace since. We aren't sure to what extent he is injured, he has an MRI on Friday the 5th, so we should know more then. The speculations are: a torn ACL or MCL or miniscus and/or the bone at the base of the knee holding the "pieces" together is fractured. I'll keep everyone posted. Second, Adam's younger brother Chase (who lives in Florida) had a firecracker accident over New Years. Apparently he and his friends were dropping extremely large firecrackers down a metal pipe and letting them explode out of it when his went off prematurely. Luckily for him, it was after he dropped it, so the only thing that suffered injury was his head, instead of his entire body. He is currently in critical but stable condition at Shands Hospital in Gainesville, Florida. The blast and shards from the firecracker inflicted the following trauma: 3rd degree burns to his face, possible blindness in both eyes (almost definite in one eye), metal shards embedded in his brain (which were successfully removed through surgery earlier this week), and a crack on the back of his skull. I'm not sure the exact damage to his face, but it is significant. Please pray for him, the road to recovery is going to be very long and hard. On a more positive note, we had a fabulous trip back home, I'm just sorry it was so short we didn't get to see everyone we wanted to!!! Dawn and Shawn I'm planning a trip back again for the 4th of July, hopefully we can see each other then!! Adam may or may not be with me, depending on his deployment schedule. And somebody better tell me who besides Ann is pregnant because Mom won't. (And I know it's not me, her, or Lisa!!) Speaking of babies, I've got some cute pictures from Christmas of Billy - I'll try and get them posted ASAP - later gaters

I hope that Adam gets feeling better. Please give Chase my best if you or Adam get to speak to him. I can't imagine how he's feeling but my prayers are with him.
Love Lisa

Megan,
We will send out a lot of prayers. Adam and especially his brother will be in our prayers for as long as needed.
There are some fantastic surgeons out there and we will pray that they work wonders for Chase. It seems he will have a long road ahead.
Thanks for the update and I am sure that whoever it is will post an entry on the pregnancy. Although it sounds if it is narrowing down. Hopefully no one else will play the elimination game or they could be exposed before they are ready.
We will all look forward to your post of the photos. If you have a bunch, send them to me and I will put them on the website.
Love to you guys,
Dad
