Pumpkin Pie Party

On December 23rd, 2006 mom had a pumpkin pie training party. Dad was talking with a bunch of the teachers at school about mom's wonderful, homemade, from scratch pies and sparked an interest. Dad asked if they would like to learn how to bake the pies themselves - they said yes and here we are. A real pumpkin was used for the filling and even the crust was made from scratch.

Here is a dedicated group of teachers. At this point they are making their pie crusts.

It looked so interesting that Dirk II and Lisa decided to join in with them. That is a lot of people in a very small kitchen.

Everyone did an excellent job - they worked their tails off! This is a very smart and hardworking group. Westbrook ISD is very lucky to have them.

The day ended with everyone having a great time and a they all went home with their own pie. Yes! Everyone's pie turned out fantastic.

Valerie was very impressed with the ladies. Every single one of them was successful and their pies all looked delicious. I know we were almost sad to see all those pies leave. Fortunately Dirk II and Lisa made pies also - we ate those. Absolutely wonderful.

I am hoping that I can talk all of them into coming over at Spring Break to learn about Lemon Meringue pie or Apple pie. (I like them both. Heh Heh)
