Dad is bit by a Black Widow spider! Ouch!

On Monday, June 5, 2006, at about 1:45 am Dad was bitten by a Black Widow spider while sleeping.

While the bite of the Black Widow is usually painless and may go unnoticed, it can be deadly, depending on where you are bit and how much of the venom gets into your system. Some people suffer very mild symptoms and others have serious and possibly fatal reactions.

Dad had a serious reaction and was taken to the hospital. He was released on on 6th around noon and returned to work part-time this week starting on Wednesday. The doctor told him to take it easy for the rest of the week.

That is one thing about Dad - nothing is ever boring for very long.

An interesting note - Dad's parents were here on Monday for a visit and so that took place at the hospital.

Is this the same Dirk Dykstra that live in Burlington, WI. Had a White Convertible Mustang, Broke his neck off a ski jump, and thanks then your mom outlawed jumps, a Suzuki TM 100 Yellow, I think. Drove around big tractor, made a moto cross track in back of ski hill?

Yes that is me. I actually broke my neck again a couple of years later. The motorcycle was a Suzuki RM100. You did pretty good with the memory. So who are you?
