Dirk II was nominated for Most Academic and Most Likely to Succeed. In both categories the nominees are usually Seniors, with a Junior once in a while. Most of the staff were surprised to see a Freshman among the nominees.

In most academic there were only three nominees in the school, while in most likely to succeed there were five.
